To the Rotaract Club of Tophane,
We recently received your thoughtful letter and were excited to learn about your club’s long-standing history of community service. We have also been learning about Bursa - its Ottoman heritage, Cumalıkızık, Uludağ, silk and food culture.
We are the Rotaract Club of Darling, a young, passionate and community-driven team in the Swartland region of South Africa. Our journey began with five young people in January 2026. The club was officially founded on 17 April 2026 and grew to nine members within two months.
Our motto is ‘Grow Internally. Impact Externally.’ We develop leadership, communication, confidence and teamwork inside the club so that this growth becomes useful action in our community.
Our work includes tuberculosis awareness, food parcels, university application support, twice-monthly school activities and a Menstrual Dignity Drive. Darling is known for vineyards, golden wheat fields and spring wildflowers, but it also faces limited resources, unemployment and unequal access to opportunity.
We believe a lack of resources cannot become an excuse for a lack of action. We want to build sustainable partnerships, support young people and grow into a club known for consistency, creativity and genuine community impact.
